During this workshop, learn how to weave on a loom in a warm and creative atmosphere!
Mathilde will be delighted to welcome you when you arrive.
The session will begin with a clear explanation of the technique and a presentation of the tools: weaving frame, scissors, tape measure, shuttles and comb. Mathilde will also show you some examples of previous creations to inspire you.
Once you have chosen your design, you will mount the warp on the loom and then begin weaving with strips of recycled fabric wound onto the heddles.
Finally, the craftswoman will help you with the finishing touches: hiding the threads, adding fringes or loops according to your wishes.
A drink and a healthy snack will accompany this convivial moment.
You will leave with your woven fabric, as well as a small explanatory leaflet so you can continue practising at home!
NB: the strips of fabric are recycled, but you can also bring your own.
Workshop location:
Place de la vieille halle aux blés 7, 1000 Brussels
The studio is accessible by public transport.
